Minted on concave surfaces to achieve the optimum high relief strike of Greek Goddess ‘Nike’ in art deco style by chief engraver of the United States Mint John Mercanti.
The coin depicts Nike much like she is seen here. On the coin her muscular figure symbolises strength, she kneels honouring an unseen hero with a victory laurel in the palm of her right hand and holds a sword low as a gesture of respect.
Coin in capsule in presentation case with outer box and certificate of authenticity. Very low 3,000 mintage.
