The eldest John Walter founded The Times Newspaper in 1785 as “The Daily Universal Register”, which adopted the famous name “The Times” in 1788. Bearwood (shown on the medal) was the name of the family home in Berkshire, England which was built by the youngest John Walter at a cost (in today’s money) of over $30 million dollars!
