Once hunted near to extinction, Humpback Whales are now found in oceans around the world and are a common sight off eastern and western Australia. These magnificent creatures feature on this Royal Australian Mint coin, part of a series depicting animals of the Australian Antarctic Territory. A pair of Humpbacks, one with calf, feature on this 50c Coloured Uncirculated Coin struck by Royal Australian Mint exclusively for a private firm The Coin Company. This attractive design shows one emerging from a deep blue sea, while parent and calf submerge with a splash of tailfins. The coin, with the late Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse and is struck with the special memorial obverse, comes on an attractive presentation card.
