A lovely little sweetheart badge, probably purchased by an Australian soldier and given to a female loved one or relative. In the form of a boomerang and signalling the soldier’s intention to return from war, in the same way that a boomerang returns when thrown.
Gold plated boomerang with Australian Commonwealth Military Forces rising sun affixed to centre front of boomerang. Reverse includes pin but latch on one side is broken. Reverse marked “9CT LINED”. Dates to World War 1. Measures 45mm wide by 15mm high.
