We currently have extremely low stocks of The Purple Penny 20 pocket coin album pages. This is the last that we’ll have of this type (suiting 2, 3 or 4 ring folders) and we’re looking forward to receiving brand new (3 ring folder only) stock from a different supplier in the near future. Stay tuned for the exciting news.

Mules, Clips and a New Goose
Clips clips and more clips, we love our error coins. See a whole bunch of new decimal and pre-decimal error coins in our coin errors and varieties section! There’s also a stable full of freshly graded mules for sale! Check out the New Zealand/Bahama Islands PCGS graded mules. We’ve also recently added a proof goose pattern dollar graded PCGS MS67CAM, the proofs a much lower mintage than the unc. This is the first plain edge proof we’ve had, previously only the milled edge unc’s have passed through on their way to loving homes.
New Stock Saflips and New PCGS Graded Coins
We have 2.5 inch Saflips back in stock! We’ve also just received a massive shipment of 2×2 Saflips so stock up now. We had listed some new coins including a top pop Fiji penny from 1936 which sold within 24 hours of listing. An outstanding coin is the 1746/3 threepence from Great Britain which graded PCGS MS65. Take a look at our most recently listed items or browse our stock for newer items.
Christmas Closure 2015
We’ll be closed between Christmas and the New Year. Enjoy your time off with your families and we look forward to doing business with you in the New Year. Merry Christmas.
Coin Pricing Changes
We’ve had a massive shakeup of pricing on The Purple Penny website. Many Australian pre-decimal and most decimal graded coins have come down in price so check out what we have in stock today! Get in quick, particularly with our decimal PCGS graded coins as these were graded when the US dollar exchange rate was better and these prices won’t be repeated anytime soon. Remember we can layby items so contact us and place your order today. Mention “latest news” when you order and receive free postage on your coin order (accessories excluded).
2015 Sydney ANDA and NAA Conference
It’s time for a trip to an ANDA coin show with the Sydney show being held next weekend. We’ll be at the show on Friday 9th October, if anyone would like to meet-up and view any of our stock please contact us before next Thursday and we’ll be sure to bring the coin along with us. We won’t have a table, we’ll just be visiting the show but we’d love to stop for a chat about coins.
We’ll also be attending the NAA Conference in our capital city, Adelaide, on October 23-25. If you are attending the event and are registered then you’ll be aware there is a buying and selling event on Friday 23rd October. Again, if you’d like us to bring a specific item then please let us know beforehand. It won’t be possible for us to bring our entire stock, but if there is something you’d like to view in hand then by all means just ask and we’ll bring it along.
New Coin Errors, Varieties and Trial Strikes
Errors and varieties are one of our specialties and we’ve just listed up a nice selection of decimal and pre-decimal errors and varieties, check the errors and varieties category. Another new addition and one of the first of these to be graded is a British 1957 Die Trial. A MS66 1951 New Zealand Florin is also a stunning coin and a standout in our newly listed items.
Top Pop Coins Listed
We’ve just listed up some quality and high grade world coins including a MS68 South African threepence from 1948. There’s also a gaggle of geese been added to the website including two in MS67, one with an original box and an equal finest MS68. If you’re not familiar, these are the pattern dollars from 1967, not legal tender but highly collectable and keenly sought. Check our newly listed items.
