Welcome Summer 2011 and our submissions have been returned from PCGS in time for the festive period. As expected the New Zealand coins graded well, we expected this as Royal Mint coins often grade higher than local Aussie made coins. There’s keen interest from collectors for us to continue slabbing some decimal issues so some lovely examples have returned in high grade with the red designation. Also slabbing well were some ever popular QEII proofs from 1963. We are in the process of listing up more pre-decimals so keep an eye on the newly listed category.
On a personal note we sent back for a second time some Aussie Perth copper from our own collections which had previously been rejected as “questionable colour”, PCGS hasn’t always recognised some of the stunning colours possible on Perth pre-decimal copper. These returned slabbed MS64RB so we’re pretty happy that PCGS have come around recognising this.
