Two gold plated sterling silver replica stamps struck to mirrored proof quality. Issued by Australia Post in 1988 in the ‘Spirit of the Nation’ Gold Stamp series that included 25 such items. Here we have the 34 gram One Penny ‘stamp’ that shows the Victoria Cross. The other is an 18 gram depiction of a one pound duty stamp. These items were issued by Australia post for $93 EACH with the complete set of 25 replica stamps costing about $2500!
