This error penny was struck on an underweight planchet (9.29g instead of 9.45g) that had a thin edge. You can see the denticles are poorly struck on the lower half of the coin where the planchet thinned. It’s here where the collar die failed to hold the coin evenly resulting in a partial collar error on the coin.
