A superb example of a low mintage key date 5 cent. For the varieties collector this is the scarcer low echidna and states this on the PCGS holder.
Read Dr Peter Andrews article about the different echidnas or find more information about 5 cent die varieties published in the Australasian Coin and Banknote Magazine October 2016 (Volume 19 Number 9). In this article Dr Andrews suggests the low echidna makes up roughly 20% of the 1972 5c mintage.
