1973 5 Cent with obverse strike doubling particularly over the date. Strike doubling, also called machine doubling or mechanical doubling occurs when the die skips or skids across the coin surface when striking the coin. This strike doubling is unique to this coin as it is a fault in the press at a certain time. More information can be found in this article which explains what strike doubling is and compares it with hub-doubling (which is a different effect). Supplied in an archival Saflip.
