Emergency bank issue. Struck over Spanish colonial eight reales. Remnants of the host coin are still visible. It can be seen that the host is an 8 reales of CAROLUS IIII (Charles IV) with assayer F.T. This identifies the host coin as a Mexican-minted coin dating 1801, 1802, or 1803 (KM#109).
Hairlines but with iridescent toning around the devices and legends.
