Unlisted in the current New Zealand catalogues. Renniks (1966) says “a limited number of proof specimens exist for many issues, but not necessarily in complete sets” and states the halfpenny and shilling proofs were minted for 1955. It is commonly assumed the mintage for the 1955 proof shilling is less than 20 but how many remain and what condition are they in? This is the only 1955 shilling proof certified by PCGS with one also graded by NGC.
